Easy Edible Sensory Bin || Toddler Activities

My toddler has started to get extra curious in the kitchen and wants to help or try to do the things that I’m doing. When I’m cooking, she wants to “help” and so I let her mix with my assistance. Because of her new interest, I’ve started doing sensory bins that encorporate motor skills that we will start using in the kitchen. A simple and quick bin that we’ve been using this week has been crushed or blended ( just thrown through a food processor real quick ) Cheerios, and hemp hearts in a shaker jar.

Things we’ve been using:

  • Crushed or blended Cheerios

  • Hemp Hearts in a seasoning jar

  • Small Bowl

  • Whist

  • Soup Spoon

Age: My toddler is 15 months at the time of this activity.

I recommend using a bigger bowl if you have, as the smaller bowl is harder for them to work with. Also, you don’t need to fill the shaker all the way like I did, I think once this is empty, I’ll only fill it half way. This sensory bin is fun, easy, and edible, so there’s no need to worry about them taking a taste.

You’re doing amazing! Have fun with these activities! They grow up so fast. - 💕Krysti
