First Birthday Party! || At Home Pool Party
It’s here! Our little, Beanie-Bug’s first birthday party. We decided to keep it a little simpler, host it at the house, and do an activity she loves - anything with water! Since she was an infant, after the first few baths she had, she loved bath time. Since her pediatrician cleared her for the pool and beach, we've gone at least once a month and each time, she loved it. We’ve even started going to a parent-toddler swim class twice a week.

The Invitation
First starting with the invitations, this is the design I went with. It was a mix of different things I liked from my Pinterest Board. I also wanted to avoid getting too many gifts / items in general. Over the next year or so, Brian and I are trying to move states ( more importantly, across the ocean… ) so I wanted to minimize the amount of things I would need to donate or sell. With that in mind, we asked people not to bring a gift, and we were more than blessed to have their presence during such a special milestone. We left it open if they wanted to give a small monetary gift that we could put towards her swim class or another activity for her.

The Execution
The gift shop was a total hit! I was so nervous I didn’t have enough, but I think it was just the right amount. In the Canva document I created surrounding the party, I added more affordable options that I found from Amazon. Some of the items were added last minute and I wouldn’t receive them from Amazon on time, so I opted for the options I found at Target or Walmart.
Towels and tote bags: Target $5 and less spot so I can’t link them.
The Cake
Brian’s cousin truly outdid herself! I just sent her the cake pictures from my Pinterest and let her take full creative control and let it be a surprise. I’m still in love with it, and I can’t believe how talented she is! Unfortunately, I don’t think she is taking orders right now, but if she decides to open her IG back up to her baking, I’ll add it ASAP!
I don’t have pictures of around the house and how everything was set up, but I think my Pinterest board pretty much caught the vibe we also did. Sorry! I was so caught up in hosting that I forgot to take pictures and we were running behind on time that I didn't get around to taking photos before people started showing up!
Don’t over think the birthday party. Stop feeling like you have to go above and beyond and break the bank! Do what feels right, what fits the budget, but most importantly, something you and your child will enjoy, even if they won’t remember it. 💕-Krysti
